Staff Selection Commission Central Paramilitary Notification: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued the official notification for 39,481 Constable (General Duty) vacancies across BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, Assam Rifles (Rifleman GD), and SSF.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

Educational Criteria The candidate must have passed Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognized Board/University prior to the closing date.
Age Bracket 18 to 23 years as of January 1, 2027. Age relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 3 years after deduction of military service for Ex-Servicemen.
Physical Standards Height: Male 170 cms, Female 157 cms. Chest (Male): Unexpanded 80 cms with minimum 5 cms expansion. Relaxations applicable for candidates from North-Eastern and Hill States.

Pay Scale & Allowances

Constable (General Duty) personnel in Central Armed Police Forces are appointed in Pay Level-3 of the 7th CPC (Rs. 21,700 – 69,100). Along with basic pay, personnel receive Dearness Allowance, High Altitude Allowance, Risk & Hardship Allowance (up to Rs. 17,300/- in active border postings), Ration Money Allowance (Rs. 3,965/month), Uniform Allowance, and CGHS medical facilities. Monthly gross pay starts at approx. Rs. 38,000/- to Rs. 52,000/- depending on posting deployment.

Selection Process & Examination Pattern

  1. Stage I: Computer Based Examination (CBE): 80 Questions for 160 Marks (2 marks per question) in 60 minutes. Four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning (20 Qs), General Knowledge & General Awareness (20 Qs), Elementary Mathematics (20 Qs), English/Hindi (20 Qs). Negative marking: 0.25 marks.
  2. Stage II: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & PST: Male: 5 km run within 24 minutes. Female: 1.6 km run within 8.5 minutes. Biometric verification and physical standard measurements.
  3. Stage III: Detailed Medical Examination (DME) & Review: Conducted by Medical Boards constituted by CAPFs to test fitness for duty in combat environments.

How to Apply Online

  1. Visit ssc.gov.in and complete One-Time Registration (OTR).
  2. Log into your candidate portal with your Registration Number and Password.
  3. Click ‘Apply’ under ‘Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026’.
  4. Indicate force preferences (CISF, BSF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, SSF) in alphabetical codes.
  5. Capture live photograph and upload digital signature.
  6. Pay examination fee of Rs. 100/- online (Fee exempt for Women, SC, ST, and Ex-Servicemen).
  7. Submit and print the application summary slip.
