Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
| UDC Educational Qualification | Degree from a recognized University or equivalent. Working knowledge of computer including use of office suites and databases. |
| Stenographer Qualification | 10+2 class pass or equivalent. Skill test: Dictation 10 mins @ 80 wpm; Transcription: 50 mins (English) / 65 mins (Hindi). |
| MTS Qualification | Matriculation (10th Class) pass or equivalent from a recognized State/Central Board. |
| Age Limits (as on cutoff) | UDC & Steno: 18 to 27 years; MTS: 18 to 25 years. Standard relaxations: 5 yrs SC/ST, 3 yrs OBC, 10 yrs PwBD. |
Pay Scale & Allowances
Appointees receive Central Pay Commission pay scales: UDC and Stenographers are placed in Level-4 (entry pay Rs. 25,500/-, gross ~Rs. 43,000/- per month), while MTS staff receive Level-1 (entry pay Rs. 18,000/-, gross ~Rs. 32,000/- per month), with Central DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, and comprehensive ESIC medical benefits.
Selection Process & Examination Pattern
- Phase I: Preliminary Online Exam: 100 MCQs (General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension) for 200 marks, 1 hour.
- Phase II: Main Online Exam: 200 MCQs for 200 marks in 2 hours. Final merit for UDC and MTS is calculated strictly on Phase-II marks.
- Phase III: Computer Skill Test / Stenography Test: Qualifying practical test for UDC (MS Word, Excel, PPT) and dictation/transcription test for Stenographer.
How to Apply Online
- Visit the official website of ESIC at
esic.gov.inand click on “Recruitments” tab. - Click on “Apply Online for Recruitment to the post of UDC/Steno/MTS in ESIC”.
- Choose “Click here for New Registration” and enter Name, Mobile, and Email ID.
- Upload scanned passport photograph and signature conforming to specifications.
- Fill personal particulars, regional choice, and academic credentials accurately.
- Pay examination fee (Rs. 500 for General/OBC/EWS; Rs. 250 for SC/ST/PwBD/Female) through Net Banking or UPI.
- Submit the application and download the registration confirmation printout.
