Staff Selection Commission Notification: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official recruitment notification for 9,583 vacancies of Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (MTS) and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) across various Central Ministries, Departments, and Constitutional Offices.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
| Educational Criteria | The candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board on or before the crucial cutoff date. |
| Age Threshold | 18 to 25 years for MTS and Havaldar in CBN; 18 to 27 years for Havaldar in CBIC and few MTS posts. Age relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwBD. |
| Physical Test (Havaldar Only) | Walking: Male 1600 meters in 15 minutes, Female 1 km in 20 minutes. Height: Male 157.5 cms, Female 152 cms. |
Pay Scale & Allowances
Selected personnel are appointed in Pay Level-1 with a starting basic pay of Rs. 18,000/- per month. Along with Central Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (27%/18%/9%), and Transport Allowance with DA, the monthly gross salary in Class ‘X’ metro cities (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata) is approx. Rs. 33,500/- to Rs. 36,000/-.
Selection Process & Examination Pattern
- Session-I: Numerical & Mathematical Ability + Reasoning: 40 Questions for 120 Marks (20 Qs each) in 45 minutes. No negative marking in Session-I. Purely qualifying in nature.
- Session-II: General Awareness & English Language: 50 Questions for 150 Marks (25 Qs each) in 45 minutes. Negative marking of 1 mark per wrong answer. Merit is prepared solely on Session-II performance.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & PST (Havaldar Only): Mandatory qualifying physical test conducted by CBIC / CBN at designated regional centres.
How to Apply Online
- Visit
ssc.gov.inand complete One-Time Registration (OTR). - Log into your dashboard and click ‘Apply’ under ‘Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination 2026’.
- Choose state/UT cadre preferences in numerical preference order.
- Capture live photograph and upload digital signature.
- Pay examination fee of Rs. 100/- online (Fee exempt for Women, SC, ST, PwBD, ESM).
- Submit and print the application summary slip.
