Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
| Academic Qualification | Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology/AMIE with not less than 65% marks in aggregate (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) from a recognized University/Institute. Final year students with 65% up to pre-final semester eligible. |
| Upper Age Limit | 27 years as of the closing date. Age relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL, 10 years for PwBD. |
| Health Standards | Candidate must conform to the medical standards laid down by NTPC medical council. |
Pay Scale & Allowances
Selected candidates will undergo one-year training at various NTPC sites. During training, trainees will be placed in the E-1 pay scale of Rs. 40,000 – 1,40,000 at the basic pay of Rs. 40,000/-. On successful completion, trainees will be absorbed as Assistant Managers at Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000 (E-2 grade). In addition, employees receive Dearness Allowance, perks under cafeteria approach (35% of basic), Performance Related Pay (PRP), medical facilities for family, and company accommodation. Total annual CTC is approx. Rs. 16.05 Lakhs.
Selection Process & Examination Pattern
- Stage 1: GATE Score Based Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted for personal interview on the basis of performance in the respective GATE engineering paper at a ratio determined by management.
- Stage 2: Personal Interview & Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates undergo in-depth technical and behavioural interview evaluation. Final merit list is prepared giving 85% weightage to GATE score and 15% to personal interview.
