Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
| Technician Gr I Signal | Bachelor of Science in Physics / Electronics / Computer Science / IT / Instrumentation OR B.E. / B.Tech / 3-Year Diploma in Engineering in relevant disciplines. Age: 18 to 36 years. |
| Technician Gr III | Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in relevant trades (Fitter, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Wireman, Welder, Machinist, etc.) OR 10+2 with Physics and Maths for Signal & Telecom. Age: 18 to 33 years. |
| Age Relaxations | 3 years extra age concession granted due to COVID pandemic. Plus 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL. |
Pay Scale & Allowances
Technician Grade-I Signal officers receive an initial basic pay of Rs. 29,200/- in Pay Level-5, with starting monthly emoluments of approx. Rs. 54,000/- including DA, HRA, and Transport Allowances. Technician Grade-III employees receive a basic pay of Rs. 19,900/- in Pay Level-2 with monthly earnings of approx. Rs. 36,000/- plus night duty allowance, national holiday allowance, and railway pass privileges.
Selection Process & Examination Pattern
- Computer Based Test (CBT) for Tech Gr I: 100 MCQs in 90 minutes covering General Awareness (10 Qs), General Intelligence & Reasoning (15 Qs), Basics of Computers and Applications (20 Qs), Mathematics (20 Qs), and Basic Science and Engineering (35 Qs).
- Computer Based Test (CBT) for Tech Gr III: 100 MCQs in 90 minutes covering Mathematics (25 Qs), General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 Qs), General Science (40 Qs), and General Awareness on Current Affairs (10 Qs).
- Document Verification & Medical Fitness: Candidates shortlisted based on normalized CBT marks undergo document scrutiny and stringent medical examinations (A-3/B-1/B-2) by Railway Medical Officers.
How to Apply Online
- Go to the official single-window recruitment portal at
rrbapply.gov.in. - Click on ‘Create an Account’ and complete Aadhaar verification or alternative Govt ID verification.
- Log in and choose the specific RRB Zone and post category you wish to apply for.
- Fill in all educational and ITI trade/degree details with exact roll numbers and passing years.
- Upload recent passport photo with white background (without goggles/caps) and digital signature.
- Pay the CBT application fee (Rs. 500/- with Rs. 400/- refundable upon attending CBT for Unreserved/OBC; Rs. 250/- fully refundable for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Female/EBC/Minorities).
- Submit your application and save your Application Reference Slip.
