Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
| Army Wing of NDA | 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University. |
| Air Force, Navy & Naval Academy | 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent. |
| Age Criteria & Marital Status | Only unmarried male and female candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 2008 and not later than 1st January 2011 are eligible. |
Pay Scale & Allowances
During the entire training duration at NDA Khadakwasla and Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala, cadets receive a fixed monthly stipend of Rs. 56,100/- (Pay Level 10). Upon successful commissioning as Lieutenant in the Army (or equivalent sub-lieutenant in Navy / Flying Officer in Air Force), officers are placed in Pay Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500) plus Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs. 15,500/- per month, Flying Allowance, High Altitude Allowance, and free rations.
Selection Process & Examination Pattern
- Stage 1: UPSC Written Examination (900 Marks): Mathematics (Code 01): 300 Marks, 2.5 hours. General Ability Test (GAT Code 02): 600 Marks (English 200 Marks, General Knowledge 400 Marks), 2.5 hours. 0.33 negative marking.
- Stage 2: SSB Interview & Psychological Testing (900 Marks): Stage-I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT). Stage-II: Psychology Tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) tasks, and Personal Interview over 5 days.
- Stage 3: Specialised Medical Board (SMB): Conducted at designated Armed Forces Service Hospitals (Air Force Central Medical Establishment, etc.) certifying medical fitness.
How to Apply Online
- Open the official UPSC portal at
upsconline.nic.in. - Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) module if applying for the first time.
- Click on ‘Examination Code: NDA-II-2026’ under ‘Active Examinations’.
- Fill Part-I registration: Enter personal information, verify nationality, and give preference order (Army, Navy, Air Force, NA).
- Fill Part-II registration: Pay examination fee of Rs. 100/- (Female/SC/ST candidates are exempt).
- Select exam center, upload photo ID proof, recent photograph, and signature.
- Agree to declaration and submit your application form. Print the confirmation receipt.
