Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
| Technical Officer ‘C’ | B.E. / B.Tech or M.Sc. in relevant engineering discipline with minimum 60% marks from a recognized University. Age: 18 to 35 years. |
| Stipendiary Trainee Cat-I | Diploma in Engineering (3 years) OR B.Sc. with minimum 60% marks in relevant trade. Age: 19 to 24 years. |
| Stipendiary Trainee Cat-II | SSC with minimum 60% marks with Science & Maths plus ITI in relevant trade (Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Welder, Electrician, etc.). Age: 18 to 22 years. |
| Age Relaxations | 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwBD candidates. |
Pay Scale & Allowances
Technical Officers receive basic pay of Rs. 56,100/- in Level-10 with starting gross pay exceeding Rs. 98,000/- per month. Category-I trainees receive Rs. 24,000/- stipend in 1st year and Rs. 26,000/- in 2nd year (absorbed as Scientific Assistant in Level-7 at Rs. 44,900/- basic). Category-II trainees receive Rs. 20,000/- in 1st year and Rs. 22,000/- in 2nd year (absorbed as Technician in Level-3/4).
Selection Process & Examination Pattern
- Stage 1: Preliminary Screening Test: 50 MCQs in 1 hour (Mathematics 20 Qs, Science 20 Qs, General Awareness 10 Qs). 3 marks for correct, 1 mark negative. Screening in nature.
- Stage 2: Advanced Test (Subject / Trade Specific): 50 MCQs in 2 hours based entirely on trade syllabus. Merit for Stage 3 shortlisting is based on Advanced Test.
- Stage 3: Trade / Skill Test & Interview: Go/No-Go practical trade test for technicians; personal interview for officers and Cat-I trainees.
